KNOX TALKS
CHRISTIAN SCHOOL WYOMING, ON
extracurricular
activities
We are designed to live in community and at John Knox we strive to hold events throughout the year that help our students discover new interests, share their gifts, and build new relationships.
SOME OF THE EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES WE PLAN ARE:

-
Special days such as ‘Book Character Day’, ‘Hundreds Day’ or ‘Geography Day’.
-
Sharing talents: Students have the opportunity to share their special talents, speeches, and recitations at special assemblies and evenings.
-
Clubs are offered such as board games, knitting, art, volleyball, basketball or music.
-
Chapels and Assemblies: Students participate through leading readings and music.
-
Other activities like reading buddies, pizza days, fitness month, theme week, and field trips help create special experiences and build school community.
-
Electives (LEEP) Program: Student in grade 4-8 will have the opportunity to get trained by an expert in the trades. Every Friday in February, students will get to choose an elective of their choice. Electives include woodworking, sewing, baking, gardening, pottery, pickle ball etc.
As a school community, it is also important for us to be a part of our local community. Involvement in our local community helps us to know and understand our neighbours. Community involvement also teaches the blessing of serving and loving our neighbours. These activities may look different each year but can include presenting at a nursing home, trail clean up, participation in the local fair, contributing to Remembrance Day at the Legion, and collecting donations for the local food bank.
